ABOUT THE DESIGNER
All these cars were designed by me, John Cowperthwaite.
Some of my previous designs included similar ride on toys first marketed in 1986 by my company Real Life Toys.
These included: The RLT Mayfair, The RLT Kids Jeep, The RLT Scout and the RLT Toylander Land Rover series 2 replica.
The company, Real Life Toys has been sold on three times since then! and now operates under the single word title of ‘Toylander UK’.
All these previous designs of mine are still available from them, but I have no connection with that company.
PREVIOUS HISTORY
Before I ventured into designing ride on cars for kids, I was responsible for the design of several full size road going kit built vintage style sports car, starting with the Moss Roadster in 1981, followed by the Malvern ( both Morgan style cars ) then the Mamba ( Italian flavoured 60’s classic ) and Monaco ( a pre-war track racer) all under the Moss Sports cars banner, and later the Husky Jeep. These were later followed by the JC Midge, the JC Locust ( Lotus 7 replica) and the JC Midge MK 2. Along with the Husky these were full size cars built from plywood and aluminium using plans and patterns in the same way as my kids car designs.
There are still owners’ clubs for all these cars, and you can Google any of them if you are interested in seeing what they look like.
You will often see examples turning up on YouTube, at car shows and for sale on eBay.
